Match Preview: Albany at Syracuse (8/4)
The Albany Rebels will try and bring home the New York Cup on Saturday when they face the Syracuse Gaels at 11:30 a.m. at Henninger High School in Syracuse. Because of the Rebels’ convincing 4-23 (35 points) to 2-12 (18 points) victory at home in the first leg, they must win, draw or lose by fewer than 17 points to win the cup.
"We're excited to keep our rivalry with Syracuse going," said forward Cillian Flavin. "It is also exciting to see some new players make their rebels debut. These lads have trained well and will benefit greatly from some game time."
The Rebels will dress a strong team on Saturday, including their top four scorers from the first leg: Mark Adam (9 points), Ryan Moloney (7 points), Flavin (7 points) and Joe Bradley (4 points).
Rookies Tristan Boyer, Chris Poggi and Chris Scotto Di Carlo will all make their debuts.
