Albany Adds Two Matches with Hartford

Brendan Rock

The James Connolly Albany Rebels have added a home and home series with Hartford on back-to-back weekends in September. The Rebels will host Hartford on Saturday, September 17 at 4:30 p.m. at Plumeri Sports Complex in Albany. A week later, the Rebels will travel to Glastonbury, Conn., for the second match to be played Saturday, September 24 at 1 p.m.

Albany and Hartford have ignited a competitive rivalry since last year. The Rebels lost both matches last season and a tournament match to open the 2016 campaign - all of which were played in Hartford. Albany won the most recent match 10-7 at the Syracuse Tournament in May.

“We’re excited to close out our season with two matches against Hartford, and especially looking forward to hosting them in Albany for the first time,” said Mike Lee who books the Rebels schedule. “Along with Syracuse, they are the closest club to us, so these matches are important to have for our club. The team is looking forward to this series, as Hartford always provides a competitive game.”

The Rebels will take their four-game win streak into the home game on September 17.
