    Albany Splits in Buffalo

    The James Connolly Albany Rebels split the results in the second round of New York Cup action, losing to the Buffalo Fenians and defeating the Syracuse Gaels on July 8 at Cazenovia Park in Buffalo. The results level Albany and Buffalo at the top of the table, each with an overall record of 3-1 and 1-1 in the head-to-head tiebreaker. Syracuse is 0-4.     Rebels Head West in New York Cup

    After winning their first two matches of the inaugural New York Cup last month, the Albany Rebels prepare for the next round this weekend in Buffalo. Albany will play Buffalo at 2 p.m. and Syracuse at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Cazenovia Park. The Rebels defeated Syracuse 3-10 (19 points) to 2-5 (11 points) and beat Buffalo 3-19 (28 points) to 0-11 (11 points) on June 17 in Syracuse.
